Jolimont Alpaca is part of Viscount Agricultural Developments Pty. Ltd., owned and managed by Pat & Rosa
Viceconte.
Pat & Rose discovered the great potential of Alpaca in 1989.
They immediately set on a research process into these remarkable animals, investigating the potential of leading a new Australian industry.
Pat & Rosa began importing Alpaca in 1989 from New Zealand and then from Chile in 1993, this has
formed an integral part of the current Alpaca herd in Australia. At the time, they not only developed a firm
understanding of Alpaca but forged friendships in South America and in Australia that have continued to
grow to this day.
In conjuction with our South American connection and Jolimont Alpaca, a government approved quarantine facility has been constructed in Tacnu, Peru.
Jolimont Alpaca has imported to Europe and serveral times to Australia since the construciton of the quarantine station.
The Vicecontes were principally responsible for the development of the protocol for the export of Alpaca
from Peru to Australia. This was a four year process dependent on good working relationships with the
governments of both countries.
The associations developed over this period are why Jolimont Alpaca are
leaders in the importation of Peruvian Alpaca.Pat & Rose Viceconte see a long and exciting future in the Australian Alpaca Industry, and welcome those
who join them as they lead the industry into the 21st century.
